What score should I aim for?
For UK academic writing, 50-70 is a sensible target. Below 30 risks unclear prose; above 70 may read too colloquially for a formal essay.
How to lower the score
Shorten sentences to under 25 words and swap long Latinate words for shorter Anglo-Saxon ones.
